Kolekole Beach Park

This picture of Jeremy is actually not at Kolekole park but at one of the black sand beaches in Hilo bay. We came to chill here Sabbath afternoon the other day.

On our way back from my appointments to Waimea, which are weekly appointments now, Jeremy and I like to go to this beautiful retreat called Kolekole Beach Park. It is a stunning view of the ocean and an awesome jungly part of God's creation. We will definitely have to take you guys here when you come. It's just so relaxing & peaceful. There are picnic benches there where people come and hang out with family, it's really cool.

I tell Jeremy all I need is food and I can literally just sit there all day looking and listening to the beautiful waves of the gorgeous ocean... :)

I love these pictures of my Hubby, he loves the ocean as you can tell =) Our baby's Hawaiian name is perfect because it means Oceanside, and he will be born by the ocean. Now I am officially 2-4 weeks until JJ is full term and is ready to be held! (Yes, his nickname is JJ:)

Thanks for reading!

Bun in the oven & more

Here are some pictures of the progress of growing a little person. What a miracle of God isn't it?!

Well as you can see I've been growing right along with my baby hahahaha!! Oh well, it's worth it, and the pounds will be shed later :)

We're so excited!!! I'm 35 weeks today, which means I only have 35 more DAYS to go!!! :) YAY!!! Our baby is growing rapidly right now and putting on some baby fat, his movements are ever so strong, sometimes he makes my belly look oddly shaped; I think it's because he's stretching :) When he's done stretching my belly goes back to it's round shape. He wiggles & kicks a lot! We talk to him and read to him and we just love him so much. We are so thankful for him!! Jeremy's been wanted to have a baby since we got married, I had a list to check off first.

1) Both finish our undergrad B.S. degrees. Check
2) Get my wisdom teeth extracted. Check

I'm so grateful to have such a great hubby & now son. Soon he will be in our arms. God is so awesome!!

Now I will show you pictures of before I even knew I was pregnant.... Look how skinny I was! :) haha!
My sweet Mother in law Ella gave me this nighty for "when I have a growing belly" What perfect timing because I was actually already growing my little son at this point....I just didn't know it!!!! haha:)

And I had to throw this one in of the brothers. Brotherly love!

And now me and my lil sissy. Sisterly love!!
These are some from Jeremy's 27th birthday:)

I look really funny in this one cause I was trying to fix the numbers so they wouldn't say "72" haha!

Well thanks for reading:)

Lots of love,

Kat & Jeremy

Cravings.....

So lately I've been craving frozen stuff.....especially frozen bananas!!! Well mangoes too. I got a whole cluster of bananas the other day and froze them and ate them in like 2 days! They were sooooo goood! Oh yeah I also got some Tahitian Vanilla Gelato from a Big Island company, it was sooo stinking delicious especially topped with this chocolate sauce called "Magic Shell." Here are some pictures of this yumminess, don't worry I don't OVER-indulge in this tasty little treat.. ;)

I'm probably a little late on this stuff, but whoever thought of this idea was a genius! They use coconut oil in this so that it hardens when its on anything cold. :)

Well we had a lovely day at church today. The sermon great and afterward we had a nice time hanging out and fellowshipping over our potluck lunch. There was another pregnant girl & she was munching on crackers right after church and she looked ravenous haha I looked at her and couldnt help but laugh because I thought it was so cute. She due in August and she's having a baby girl:) I told her she's very smart because I was feeling those crazy hunger pangs too but I didn't bring a snack:(

Well I got to be among the first in line for potluck so baby & me were very please with that! :) The guy at the potluck line brought a piece of bread for me while I stood in line. Haha! Really cool.

After church we went to a cool relaxing spot to just take in the beautiful views.

Hope you enjoyed this post & your day:)

Great time at the beach today!

Hello family and faithful blog readers,

It's Jeremy here. Today we went to the beach and had a grand ol time. We saw some sea turtles, watched local kids jump off some rocks, listened to people strummin ukeleles and guitars, and enjoyed the beautiful natural scenery. One of the spots we visited today was like the Garden of Eden. We can't wait till we get to share the views, ooohhs and aahhhs with you guys. I want to paddle around in a sea kayak. It's the perect place to paddle board, sea kayak, paddle outrigger canoes, and sail. People do that all the time here.

Twice this week I have gotten off work (at 3pm) and went straight to the beach with my lady. It just pulls at my bones when I get out of that hospital, my eyes behold the sun, and I see the deep blue callin my name. It's the call of the wild...I love bein a short drive from the beach.

Today I worked in the ICU and had a good day. It's so much better being on day shifts (0630-1500). I have been doin alot of night shifts and it's nice to finally get my body back on a normal sleep schedule. I think I made a positive difference in people's lives today in the hospital, so that is gratifying.

Well, here's a few pics for your enjoyment.

Peace, grace, and love to each of you from Jer and Kat.

New Friends!

Hey everyone! We hung out with some of our new friends this past weekend. The couple playing guitar & cello are Yoga & Kristin. The guy holding up the shaka by the lagoon is Shawn. We met Yoga & Kristin through her mom (she's sitting int he back) because she was Jeremy's patient at the hospital. She's been visiting her daughter because they just had a beautiful baby girl named Kiera. She's loving the island life, but she's going back to Maine at the end of May. Anyway, she figured we needed to meet some new friends and they invited us over for breakfast one day and pretty much they've been some of the coolest people ever since! They even gave us a crib!! I'm so excited, I can't wait till Jeremy sets it up, we will post pics:)

Shawn is a cool friend Jer met at church. He lives on beachfront property, and his backyard has a natural "ocean pool." It's pretty fun going to his "backyard lagoon." You can't tell in these pics because it was already late in the day/early evening but the water in that lagoon is a clear baby blue color, soooo pretty!!!

Well I hope you enjoyed this little update about some of our new friends here in Hilo!

cool tropical breezes, coconut trees and awesome lava rocks,

Photoshoot with my Hubby

Jer was inspired for my 33 week pictures so we went to the Lili'uokalani Gardens/Hilo Bay area to take them!! It was a fun & yet relaxing environment all at once. I hope you like these pics, I know my Mama will. She loves seeing the progress every week. In a month I'll be considered full term and baby will be ready any time after that!

We are continuously praying daily for the health & strength of baby & me when delivery time comes. Thank-you all for all of your prayers! They mean a lot to us.

Sailboats...

This Sabbath Jer & I were able to make it to the Hilo church. Now that Jer is on an evening schedule, he doesn't have to sleep during the days. Yay! Thank God! Afterward we got invited to go to the Waipos for lunch, Uncle Clarence is 100% Hawaiian and he gave us an idea for our baby's Hawaiian middle name.....drum rolll..........Kekai. It means "The Ocean" We told him our idea of Makai "By the Ocean" or "Oceanside" but he thinks Kekai sounds more appropriate because it means "The Ocean" we haven't decided if we will change Makai yet but..... with that being said...we have chosen our theme for our baby boy's room: Nautical! We bought a cute little sailboat for him for inspiration! Here are some pictures of it:

It is in our living right now because we don't have furniture in his room just yet. I love looking at it, it's so cool. I think our baby will like it for his room:)

PS Since it's Mother's Day tomorrow the deacons handed out roses for all the Mamas today....and guess who got one too?!? The deacon was so sweet, I wasn't even expecting to get one, when he came and said, "Looks like you're a mother to be," while handing me a pretty red rose with pink ribbon. That made my day:)

verse of the day:

Jeremiah 1:4-5 "Now the word of the LORD came to me saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations."

I think this is a beautiful verse.

Lovely thoughts of Heaven,

Kat & Jer

Under Construction...

Jer built us a bed platform this week! Here are some pictures of the process:

Taking a meal break:) Tomato Basil Pizza & corn on the cob.

We went to Home Depot and picked out a drill then headed to the lumber department. Jer carefully selected a nice drill and then had them cut the wood into the perfect measurements for our bed! He did such an awesome job!!!

Here's a picture of the semi-final result: (He's going to be adding legs and perhaps touch of paint;)

Sorry about the writing all over the place I couldn't fix it, hopefully you can read it in the proper sequence:)

Settling in...

This weekend was so much fun! Jer and I were able to get some things for our place (bedroom, kitchen, bath, etc)! We also got a car seat for our baby boy! :)

We are so excited for finally feel more & more settled in. It's a really good feeling, because no one likes to feel like a fish out of water. Now we have a new pond we are settling into:)

God is so gracious and good, we are so very grateful to Him for everything.

Verse of the day:

Psalm 98:4 Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth; Break forth and sing for joy and sing praises.

PS we will be doing a tour of our house soon, so stay tuned! ;)
