Radio Station & Belly shot

Hey everyone,

just a quick update on the radio station day and my baby bump. The good news: I haven't gained any weight since my last appointment yippee!! I think 35 lbs is enough. Wow, I have never weighed more than 125lbs. and now I weigh....155lbs! Yikes! I know!

Anyway, here are some pictures of a beautiful plumeria bunch Jeremy picked, my belly, Jeremy's radio talk day and some beautiful horses & cute cows we saw on the way back from Waimea yesterday. Enjoy!

It's BANANAS!

Hey everyone,

just posting a quick update. Jeremy cut down some bananas from out backyard the other day and I think they are almost ripe enough to eat! :) We will have to freeze a lot of them and make some smoothies! ;)

It was really cool seeing him cut them down, with bananas you have to cut down the whole tree because they do not grow back on the same tree, instead the tree produces offspring that later form more trees and then you just keep cutting away (once they've produced fruit) to ensure that the process continues. I never knew that!

Well enjoy the pics....Oh and I'm 38 weeks and 2 days today (basically 9 1/2 months preggie)! yay! I can hardly wait....maybe baby will come for father's day?!?! ;)

Baby's room & things

Hey Everyone!

So as you know we had a surprise baby shower last weekend, it was so cozy & fun! This weekend we got to go to church cause Jeremy had the weekend off:) It was fun seeing everyone and socializing afterward at potluck. We went to the bay to chill and hang out, feed some birdies some left over rice and just relax.

The Hilo church has a slot on Saturdays at 3pm on a Christian radio station and Jeremy got to be on it!! We got a copy of the talk on a CD too:) Maybe we can upload it somehow so that you guys can hear it!

It was s very good discussion, I heard the CD later because I was in a different room...it was sooo warm that day....I had to sit right next to the A/C. Anyways, this is a post about our baby's room & things... We still have to set up the crib, but since we're going to be using a co-sleeper for his first months we won't be using it until he's a little bigger, or for naps only. We want him to be right in bed with us and the co-sleeper will be perfect for that:)

Here is his crib that our friends Yoga & Kristin gave us. They are some really nice people. Those cloth diapers are just hanging there because I wanted to let them air out after I washed them.
This is a pile of clothes some that we bought, and lots that we got from the baby shower! It was so fun looking at all of his cute little onsies and outfits and just picturing his little body in them!
More baby things...little clothes we got him, baby bath things from the baby shower, handmade blankets and a quilt from Auntie Shirley:) Oh and a hair brush that I got him, I can hardly wait to comb his delicate little head ;)
This is the carseat we got from the baby shower, it's really cute. We love it! We had gotten him one from Craigslist in the meantime but we customized this one and took out the grey bed in the craigslist one and put it in this new one:) And we got a head rest to save his little neck from any bumps along t the road.
We put this balloon from the baby shower in his room. It's so fun & exciting waiting for this little present from above!
Thanks for reading.... Oh yes, how exciting is it that our family is going to be here in 2 weeks?!?! (Not to mention our baby boy will be here any day/week now;)

Surprise Baby Shower!

Saturday night we were going to go hang out with some friends, possibly go out to dinner....or so we thought...

We thought it was very nice and that they were on a mission, when they said they'd come pick us up in 15-20 minutes! Little did we know they had a trick up their sleeves....yes a Baby Shower surprise! It was so fun, they did such a great job! They had fun games & prizes, yummy food I ate so fast haha, and nice presents. We are so grateful for our Hilo church family. They are so sweet & overflowing with aloha.

We got so many cute clothes & socks and cute little things for our sweet little babykins. I've already de-tagged and washed them all ;)

Salty Kisses

Hey family and friends,

It's Jer here again. I'm feelin inspired to do another blog (whatever the word "blog" means). Anyways, yesterday (Thursday June 3, 2010) we went to our weekly OB appointment up in Waimea. It went really good and we are stoked about our midwives. We trust, with God's blessings, they will do a great job. But, the point of this blog is to share about our absolutely marvelous time we had at a most beautiful beach after the doctor's appointment. (If you click on the pictures, you can make them big.)

So, after the appointment, we decided to cruise down to Hapuna Beach which is north of Kona. I will post pictures of this place. It was beautiful, Kat and I went swimming in the clear, warm, teal waters of this pristine white sand beach. It was warm, fun, exhilerating, and awesome to be swimming in the ocean with my 9-months pregnant wife! Wow, I guess I can't express it adequately with words. The pictures will help, but you readers won't know the feeling until we take you there when you arrive to this Big Island of joy.

Here was our welcoming view of Hapuna Beach.

I entitled this post "Salty Kisses" because we kissed in the water and I held my beautiful bride in the warm, clear shallows as the gentle waves rolled through us. It was romantic and perfect.

I know you'll love it when you come out here and swim...Kat and I stayed out in the water for about 2 hours =) It was so much fun. Kat and I were all smiles...(she looked like my little chinita=)

Good times at the beach

Jeremy and I went to bayfront beach the other day and had a good time. We relaxed, had a picnic and enjoyed watching people canoe, paddle board, sea kayak etc. It's the perfect spot for that here, because not only is it a bay but there's a break wall that helps you feel safer and not like you're going to get "lost at sea" haha!

Anyway, here is one of us sitting at a picnic table. After we had some snacks we dipped our feet in the water and walked around, there are lots of pebbles though at this black sand beach so its nice to keep your flip flops on...
Unless you have tough feet like the locals, they even go running on the beach barefoot! Ouchie, I can't do that. I guess my feet are too soft. Well here are some pics of the locals on their canoes/kayaks/paddle boards. It's really cool seeing them paddle in unison, it's awesome!

A memorable Memorial Day

Hey guys,

It's Jeremy here. Today, Kat and I had a fun day at the beach. It was Memorial Day and Hawaiian's know how to celebrate it. It was chill. They had tailgate picnics complete with BBQ's, keiki's (children) running and playing, sailboats sailing, families laughing and talking, and ukeleles gracing the air with pleasant sounds. Kat and I went for a stroll along the beach and got to experience the chill vibes of Bayfront Beach here in Hilo.

I was thinking to myself that I want to get a boat to float out into the bay with my lady. When you guys get out here, I can take you on a boat ride out into the ocean too. It's chill here. It's a great place for sailing and boating out in the open ocean, yet still in a bay. A picture of Bayfront Beach is above. (Kat posted a pretty good picture of it in the previous post.)

It was sunny there at the beach today, so I decided to jump in the water and go for a swim. It felt so refreshing. My cute wifey stood knee deep and watched me with glee. I know she will come swimming with me after little JJ's born.

We think about him all the time. Today, before we went to the beach, we went to our favorite little baby clothes/supply store in Hilo. We had so much fun picking out clothes for our little son. They had baby clothes on sale today for 75 cents, so we got like 10 cute onesies, shirts, and overalls. It's fun preparing for his arrival. (It reminds me of preparing for the Son's arrival).

Lately I've been reading Roger Morneau's book called "Incredible Answers to Prayer." It's encouraging and uplifting. I also read Matthew 27 today. I love reading the Bible. I feel like we should read them while we still have them.
Today we also went to Ross and I got some new board shorts. They are cool and green. Kat got some nice preggie clothes too. We have fun when I have days off. I love seeing her happy.

Well, this has been a bit of a glimpse into our lovely day today. Hope your day is going well too. Thanks for reading our journal postings and we hope to see family and friends out here soon.

We are very thankful to be living out here in such a beautiful area. Our day was great and we give God thanks for today, and for all of the gifts that He will give us in the future (little son, family, etc.).

I am also thankful for the brave and loyal soldiers in ages passed that have fought for America's freedom we now enjoy...
