R+R+Thanksgiving
We all need a break from our daily grind, don't we? Well Jer and I felt like that when we got back from traveling to California. I mean, it was great seeing all of our loved ones, but it was tough! Jeremiah was barely 2 1/2 months when we went! So you can imagine how it was, I mean, the schedule that he had going here was completely thrown off.
After we got back we slowly settled in and got back on schedule, I think it was easier coming back because we are 3 hours behind. Well we decided to go on a relaxing journey to the lagoons or what I like to call "Nature's Pools." Here in Hilo, there are many of these!
Daddy jumped in the water while I sat next to my sleeping angel while enjoying the cool views.
Can you believe it's almost time for THANKSGIVING?!?!!? YIKES!!!
Our sweet church ohana invited us to Thanksgiving dinner....how exciting! We didn't have any plans and were starting to feel the loneliness...until Auntie invited us... She gave me the cutest verbal invitation with the cutest facial expressions, she understands so well because her kids are on the mainland:( But now we will bring joy with our lil boy! She's so thrilled we are coming and so are we! ;)

Rest!
Well today we went to church, it was great seeing all our church ohana. We hadn't gone in a while because Jer's night schedule, but alas we made it today! We had potluck lunch afterward and chatted/hung out with friends. Jeremiah did so good, he slept during the sermon (yay) haha. When he woke up, he was in such good spirits and hung out with Auntie Eli & Uncle Fernie while Jeremy and I ate lunch.
He loves people, he was smiling, giggling, talking, and enjoying all the attention he was getting. Someone said he looks like a 9 month old haha!! Everyone was so cozy with him.
Hope you all had a wonderful Sabbath rest.

4 months!
Hey everyone!
Jeremiah had his 4 months appointment this week and weighed in at 17.9 lbs and he's 26" long. He's grown out of all of his 3-6 months clothes so now he's wearing 6-9 months, or 9-12 months clothes. I went shopping for him a couple weeks ago at Ross. Man I love ROSS!!!!!!! You can get so much for a great deal. I got him some pajamas, books, and bibs. It sure is addicting shopping for a baby.

I ended up getting nothing for me....hahahah. I was going to get a new shirt for church. Oh well! I have plenty of stuff I need to dig out of my closet anyway;)
I love Carter's baby clothing it's so INSANELY cute! I got him Vitamins baby clothing and First Impressions too. The bibs I got him are from Carter's baby, they are so cool they have an inner polyester liner that prevents it from soaking through to baby. He soooo needed these, he's in the DROOL bucket stage man o man, he's never dehydrated!!! hahaha;)
Here he's wearing nothing but his G-diaper and his Carter's Anti-drool bib! ;) haha (It was a very hot day on the Big Island!) Don't you love the 70s design of this couch? I was washing the white cover that goes on it, and I though it would be a cool retro backdrop.

Well it's so much fun seeing him grown up. The doctor said that we can put him in the Johnny Jumper now.....boy o boy he loves it!!!!!! Out friends gave us a cute jumper, it has a "little jungle" theme" It's so adorable, it's by Graco and it has rubber edges to prevent him from hurting himself against the walls or anything like that.
I'll put pics of him on that soon ;)
Oh yes, doctor also said I can start giving him solids now but I can wait until 6 months. SO...we're in the market for a booster seat/high chair. Time to do some research on those! That will be fun =) (I will make a post on when the big "First Meal" is, I want it to be as close to 6 months as possible because there's less risk for allergies and babies' swallowing reflexes are more developed then)
On a side note, the weather is GORGEOUS today, sunny blue skies, nice ocean breeze. I love seeing the coconut trees whistling in wind.
Hope you are all having a fantastic Friday!!!
Love,
Kat

Moonsprout
Hey everyone!
Jeremy and I went to Moonsprout, our favorite baby store here in Hilo. It's such a cute earth friendly store. They sell cloth diapers, clothing, shoes, bottles, pacifiers, nursing pads/covers, etc. They have a cute little section in the back where they sell gently used diapers. Since Jeremiah has outgrown his newborn diapers we went to see if we could sell them to Moonsprout=)
We have tried several brands on him! There are so many and I couldn't decide on just ONE! I decided to try a few of several brands so I can see what works best for me. SO far, I have tried: Kissaluvs, G-diapers, Swaddlebees, Kushies, Imse Vimse, Cloud, Mother-ease, Greensprout, and Econobums. I have also used disposables: Huggies Pure & Natural Organic Cotton, Pampers Dry-Max and Pampers Sensitive, Seventh Generation, and Parent's Choice.
For my baby shower I had a "birth-day" cake for my baby, the ladies made it with diapers:) They used Parent's Choice diapers, they sell these at Wal-mart.
I used these "birth day" diapers for the first couple weeks. I must say it was nice to have disposables to start with. I integrated cloth after the first couple weeks and used disposables only when going out and for night-time.
Now I've been exclusively using cloth diapers. I love my new Imse Vimse Organic Cotton diapers, and my Econobum unbleached cotton prefolds. I line dry all my cloth diapers and use the SUN as NATURE'S BLEACH!!! ;) It's awesome, it's like a magic eraser! ;)
lovely rays of sunshine,
Kat

Our morning walk!!
Jeremiah loves to go on a morning walk every morning now. If we don't get to go by 9 am, he'll let me know!! ;) He usually wakes me up at 6 in the morning on average. I'll usually feed him for a bit for breakfast, then eat breakfast myself. When Daddy gets home at 7am, he likes to come on the walk with us =) It's so much fun.
He loves staring at the trees, birds, everything. He's gonna be an outdoorsy, nature-loving boy!

Chubby baby
Hey everyone, just a quick post here. Our little baby boy is getting so plump! It's soooo much fun kissing his chubby little cheeks, hahaha. I like to squeeze them too! :)
Not to mention, they are softer than velvet....This pic was taken a few weeks a ago, so his cheeks are even more plump now, I will post more current pics soon! =) He is turning 4 months this Sabbath and we have a 4 months visit on Monday! Yay! I'm curious to see how much he has grown.
I like to call him Chubby McChubster, or my little Sumo. teehee;)

Hugs to all
~K & J & lil J ;)

Almost 4 months
I crack myself up! ;-)
Hi Guys,
It's Jeremy here. Howz it=) Miss you all and wish you could come and visit for a while...but we understand it's expensive. Anyways, Kat and I are doing good. We are enjoying our little boy, who's almost 4 months old now. I am going to add some pics here so you can see the cute little guy. He's got a great personality and is really a blessing to be around.
I have been doing a lot of night shifts as an RT at the hospital. It's not my favorite shift, but I am grateful I have a job...so many people wish they could find work...so I try not to complain. I think that I will be doing more day shifts soon since we hired a new RT, so that's nice.
We are enjoying God's created beauty here in beautiful Hawaii as much as possible. It's a nice place to live, but without the love and warmth of family close-by, it doesn't feel complete. We are contemplating a move back to Cali, but exact dates and details are not known yet. For now, we are trying to enjoy it and soak it up before/if we come back.
Well, miss you guys and hope your life is blessed and peaceful...I pray for many of you everyday...
With love,
Jer, Kat, and JJ

Cool memories
We had so many fun adventures while my mom and sisters were here. My mom was always so on top of helping me out with all the household duties, laundry, dinner, you name it she'd help me. I was able to attend 100% to baby because of all her help with everything else, she's a keeper;)
Whenever we'd go out she'd always pack a picnic or drinks or whatever...cause a breastfeeding Mamma gets HUNGRY! Haha!! She's a sweet lady, and the best mom I could ever ask for! Thank-you mom for helping me with my baby boy, the first couple months of his life would not have been the same without you... and little sissy too;)

Back from Cali land
It was a fun trip for our little family to visit all of our loved ones in California. As you can imagen, it's kinda hard traveling with a little one, but we made it through alright ;)
Our little sweetie is 3 months old now, and he's officially 16 lbs. He caught the sniffles toward the end of our trip :( We took him to the doctor's, and thank God everything looks & sounds fine. He's just a little stuffy because he's fighting a bug that dad caught.
It made us feel so much better to hear that it's nothing serious!
We will post more pics soon:)
Now off to do some laundry and hit the hay before babe wakes up! ;)
lavender scented laundry soap, relaxing music, and cozy slippers,
K
